Born in 1964 in Lebanon, Elie Saab is a fashion genius. He got into sewing at a very young age and was already tailoring clothes for his sister when he was nine years old.
As a teenager, he sold his creations to women in his neighborhood.
In 1982, he opened a sewing workshop in Beirut when he was only eighteen years old.
He managed 15 workers and already knew all the tricks of the sewing trade.
In the following months, he presented his first collection to a female audience which was impressed by the talent of this self-taught artist.
His reputation rapidly crossed borders and soon, everyone wanted to be dressed by Elie Saab.
In 2000, he was invited by the Trade Association of High Fashion in Paris to showcase his line.
He has been presenting 4 collections (high fashion and prêt à porter) a year there ever since and became a correspondent member six year later.
In 2007, he opened his store and fashion house in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Paris.
Beirut remains his main source of inspiration and development.
That is where he is based and where he manages his workshop.
In 2005, he inaugurated a modern, five-story tall building which his home to his studio, prêt-à-porter store and fashion house.
Elie Saab’s workshop is the place where all his high-fashion dresses are made and fashioned.
It is the heart and reason for his greatness in his craft.
